In 2018, The Alabama State Department of Education and the Alabama High School Athletic Association sanctioned competitive high school esports. Three games were authorized for competition: Smite, Rocket League, and League of Legends. There are two seasons a year; one in the fall and one in the spring. Each season culminates in a series of playoffs for the state championship.
Bibb County High School formed an eSports team in the spring of 2019 for the inaugural season, and our students have competed against schools all over the state in every season since then. Currently, BCHS only competes in League of Legends.
