Congratulations to the Woodstock Elementary ThinkQuest team
under the direction of Mrs. Kristin Lightsey and assistance of
Mrs. Annette Harris (WES), Daniel Barbose (Brazil), and Ms.
Ghandi (India) for being selected as a ThinkQuest First Prize
Award winner in the 15 and under age category in the
International ThinkQuest Narrative Competition. Their team
title, "Let's Rock and Roll", explores the evolution of rock and
roll music and its impact on society.
The site includes information about artists, fashion, language,
and the impact of each decade of rock and roll on today's music.
The colorful and informative site was created by students in the
ThinkQuest project environment and included world-wide surveys
in which over 3000 students participated.
Team members are Chase, Drew, Tori (WES) Danielle, Igor
(Brazil), and Anmol (India). Woodstock students teamed with the
students from Brazil and India
to collaborate and submit a winning narrative website. Their
website was
selected as a prize winner by an international panel of judges,
and is featured on the official ThinkQuest Winner's Page at:
http://www.thinkquest.org/library/winners/2009_narrative.html
The site is designated as an award-winner in the popular
ThinkQuest Library, visited by millions monthly. Every member of
the team will receive a laptop computer! The team is also
invited to attend ThinkQuest Live, an educational conference and
awards event in San Fransisco, California in October for special
recognition.
