starGet Ready for School 2017-2018!


Woodstock Elementary will be welcoming new students to register for the 2017-2018 school year.


PreK Applications March 6 - April 17


Our PreK program will be accepting applications from March 6 through April 17 for children whose fourth birthday is on or before September 1, 2017. This year, Pre K apllications can be completed online by visiting the following link and providing the site code for Woodstock Elementary.

We will be having an application day at WES on Monday, March 6 to assist our parents of four year olds with this new online process. Parents unable to attend this day may call the school office, 205-938-2028, to schedule a time for assistance with the application process, if needed. All WES applications for PreK should be complete by 2:00pm on April 17. A random selection of students will be held April 17 at 2:15pm for those interested in attending. For information about Alabama's Pre-K programs visit the Alabama Department of Early Childhood Education.


Kindergarten Registration Monday, April 17


Children who will turn five on or before September 2, 2017 may register for Kindergarten for the upcoming 2017-2018 school year on Monday, April 17 from 8am to 3pm. Your child is invited to come join us to visit our school and meet our Kindergarten teachers. During your visit, parents will be asked to providethe following documents:


2 proofs of residence

Birth certificate

Social security card

Current imminuzations (blue card).


In addition, children will participate in a vision and hearing screening, and a simple Kindergarten readiness assessment.

Alabama Reading Initiative

WES faculty and staff have been supporting the ARI literacy efforts since 2000. Instructional Coach, Stacie Gulley assists teachers and students with effective reading strategies and lessons for improved literacy.

Alabama Math Science & Technology Initiative

WES teachers have participated in ongoing AMSTI training and professional development to implement hands-on math & science activities to design meaningful, successful lessons.

Kids on Playground

21st Century Learning Community

WES is proud to offer extended day services for families each day. Students may attend each day at 7am and/or afternoons from 3pm to 6pm. Activities include snack & recreation, homework & tutoring, and daily enrichment.
