Principal's Message

Dear Parents and Students,

I am happy to be at West Blocton High School. I am excited to be a part of the tradition, the community and the pride that is Blocton. The proud history of West Blocton High School traces from the coal mines, railroads, farms, sawmills and stores of the late 1800’s and is still seen in the hard working, strong community we know today. Blocton’s sons and daughters have proudly and ably served the community, the state, and our nation. Many of our alumni have made the ultimate sacrifice to defend our freedom on the battlefields and oceans of the world. Others have worked tirelessly as ministers, teachers, businessmen and public servants. It is this tradition of character, hard work, strong values and self-sacrifice that I wish to encourage, strengthen, and develop in our young people. I want to establish high standards and goals and to challenge our students to be more than they ever thought they could be. I want them to reach higher, work harder, and dream bigger than they ever have in the past.

Our head football coach, Gregg Farnetti has developed the Tiger Creed. It hangs on the wall in the football field house weight room. I believe it exemplifies all that I hold true about West Blocton High School and all that I want to accomplish as your principal.

Tiger Creed

We are Blocton Tigers.

We are warriors.

This field is our battle ground.

We are fighting for the honor of our

school and our community.

We are a unit, a team, a family.

We will reach our goals with

class, aggression, and technique.

We will never quit, and

We will never surrender.

We are Blocton Tigers.
