Differentiating Your Instruction Using Smart Centers & Smart Literacy Bags
An Integrated/Interdisciplinary Workshop
Based on exemplary practices used by high achieving schools, participants
will focus on the critical elements within the balanced literacy
framework.
Come and learn how to add rigor and relevance to your center time and
Guided Reading time. Each strategy April DeCesare will share will assist
your students in gaining & building independence, reading proficiency,
comprehension, vocabulary, and fluency.
Proven Smart Centers(r) & Smart Literacy Bags are research based and
address the 5 key components of effective reading instruction.
These strategies will allow for differentiation and modification of
content and
materials to meet the needs of diverse learners. Renew your already
existing teaching agenda and engage ALL students in cooperative learning
and encourage critical thinking. All of these practical strategies are
designed around YOUR state standards and incorporate high expectations.
This is a lecture style presentation based on Howard Gardner's Multiple
Intelligences and Bloom's Taxonomy. Come and be renewed, refreshed, and
re-energized!
