Preparing Alabama Students for Success

Students in Alabama Public Schools are getting additional help to succeed in life through the implementation of a statewide pilot program called PASS (Preparing Alabama Students for Success).  Funding is provided by the Alabama Legislature in an attempt to improve the education level of our work force throughout the state.  Bibb County School system is pleased to be the recipient of such funds to develop a local initiative to help improve graduation rates in Bibb County.
The P.A.S.S. Initiative is built around the four cornerstones of academics, attendance, discipline and safety.  Funding will allow local schools to develop, sustain and/or facilitate a comprehensive prevention and intervention program for students who are “at risk” of failure.
This initiative is intended to:

  • To help ensure students apply their best academic effort and cooperative behavior
  • To prepare students for educational opportunities beyond the secondary level
  • To prepare students for today’s world of work as well as projected future needs
  • To promote greater safety and security in our schools
  • To promote greater parental, family and community support and involvement

Please join our school system in making this program a success.  If you have a child or grandchild in school, ensure that they attend and study daily.  If you belong to a local business or civic organization, seek out ways to partner with our school system by adopting a school or volunteering time and resources.  The students in our schools today will be the work force and leaders of our state tomorrow.  An investment in our students is an investment in our future.

The Bibb County Board of Education has made available to parents, for a
fee of $15 per child, a component of student records called STI Home.
This program allows parents to access critical information about their
child via the internet. Parents will be able to view grades, class
schedules, attendance records, discipline reports, activity announcements,
and notes from teachers. Although it is not required at this time that
teachers put in homework assignments, if they do, parents will also be
able to view homework assignments.

Letters were sent home at the beginning of the school year, and may be
downloaded from the link on this page. Anyone wishing to receive access
to their child's information may complete and submit the form. Once this
is received, a PIN number will be assigned and parents will be given
instructions on how to access their child’s information. The $15 fee per
student will allow parents to access information for the current school
year. The PIN will need to be renewed annually,

We are excited to offer this program and hope it will provide better
communication between parents and schools. Please direct any questions
regarding the program to stihome@bibbed.org.
