The Bibb County Board of Education conducted a ground breaking ceremony at West Blocton High School on Monday, March 10, 2008. The ground breaking was for the new gymnasium which will be located directly behind the main building.
The West Blocton High School Gymnasium building project is a part of the Bibb County School System's comprehensive capital improvement plan which is well underway. Several building projects are currently underway, and several more are planned. These projects are made possible, in part, with the one cent sales tax for education passed last year by the Bibb County Commission. The Bibb County School District encourages all Bibb County citizens to shop at businesses within Bibb County whenever possible so that tax dollars can continue to benefit the youth of Bibb County. |

Under the direction of Connie Hale, the sixth grade students at Brent Elementary presented a musical entitled Choices Count for the student body and guests on Friday, April 25. This musical featured lively tunes and pertinent narration to convey the importance of six pillars of character- fairness, responsibility, caring, respect, trustworthiness, and citizenship. In opening remarks Mrs. Hale challenged the student body to begin now developing and exhibiting these characteristics in each of their lives. |
