Yearbook History
The
2007 Bibonia will be Volume 72, so the history dates back to 1935 (provided
there were no years skipped, earlier if that were the case). There are several
earlier paperback editions on display in the library. Editor's Note: If
anyone has further history, or knows of an older Bibonia, please contact the
school!
Yearbook Purpose
The purpose of the
yearbook is to capture a student's high school experience and provide a written
and photographic record of it. They are also treasured memories to be shared
with future generations.
Current Progress
The 2006 Bibonia has arrived and is currently on sale in the library for
$35.00. The staff is also contacting seniors about purchasing a
senior ad in the Bibonia. You can get a price list from any staff member or from
Mrs. McMillan. The deadline for ad layout and money is Sept. 6.
Membership Requirements
All
Yearbook Staff members must maintain a GPA of 70 in accordance with the Alabama
Academics First Policy. You must apply with Mrs. McMillan and determination is
made with input from the current staff. The staff is generally limited to 30 and
the number of available slots is determined by the number of graduating seniors.
You may also be placed on a waiting list if no slot is available. There are no
fees or dues. On occasion, staff members are required to provide small donations
for fundraising projects. You must take yearbook as a class to be on the staff.
There are no after school meetings unless required to meet a deadline. This
class meets in the library.
Cartridges and Cell Phones
Collected
The yearbook staff has
been approved today to begin an ongoing
recycling for cash project to include the following: empty printer
cartridges of all types, cell phones, laptops, and palms---chat me at any
time that you have any to be picked up in your classroom and a yearbook
member will come and get them so they will not be in your way---thanks!
The company that sponsors this "Cartridges for Kids" program supplied 640
flyers for our students---we placed 25 in your boxes to be given out
tomorrow during 1st block---send for more flyers if you need extra---thanks
again for your cooperation!
