Parents and Musicians:
I hope you and your child is excited about the upcoming year. Your child has the opportunity to join the band at Bibb County Junior High. They will have the opportunity to be a part of a great tradition of Bibb County. I invite you to come join the fun.
Your child will be tested in April or May to see what instrument is appropriate for them to play. The beginning band has the following instruments:
Flute, Saxophone, Trumpet, Trombone, Clarinet, French Horn, Tuba, Baritone, Percussion/Drums
Each instrument is equally difficult and equally fun. You will enjoy any instrument that suits you.
Your child will need their instrument and book beginning on September 6th. When we tested during the summer you should have received the all information concerning instruments and books to purchase. This is a friendly reminder of what instruments and books to purchase.
BOOKS
All 7th grade band members must have the following 3 books:
Essential Elements Book #1
Note Speller (for your child's instrument)
Each book should cost around $7

DO NOT PURCHASE INSTRUMENTS FROM WAL-MART, SAM’S OR ANY OTHER DEPARTMENT STORES. WHEN THEY BREAK, AND THEY WILL, THEY CANNOT BE REPAIRED.
