Collision Repair
Technology provides education and training experiences utilizing current and
emerging technologies that enable students to gain employment and/or further
education and training. Content standards are based on National
Automotive Technicians Education Foundation (NATEF) national standards and
are designed to provide the specialized skills and technical knowledge
relevant to automotive body repair. Instruction includes laboratory
safety, welding and cutting, basic panel repair, structural analysis and
damage repair, refinishing, detailing, mechanical and electrical systems,
estimating, use of manuals, price lists, and record keeping,
Particular emphasis is given to the use of decision-making and
problem-solving techniques in applying science, mathematics, communication,
and social studies concepts to solve technological problems. In
addition, instruction and training are provided regarding the proper care,
maintenance, and use of tools and equipment. Students also become
knowledgeable of applicable local, state, and federal safety and
environmental regulations.
Collision Repair Technology
incorporates current guidelines and standards set forth by Automotive
Service Excellence/National Automotive Technicians Education Foundation,
Inc. (ASE/NATEF) including any updates or changes.
