Mr. Dennis Duncan
Director

duncand@bibbed.org

Mr. Duncan graduated from Shades Valley High School in 1974, where he was very active in student government, athletics, and other student organizations.  After completing his undergraduate and graduate studies at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, he began his teaching career in the Jefferson County Schools.  He soon became a Community School Coordinator and then an Assistant Principal at W. A. Berry High School before accepting his first principalship at his former elementary school, Irondale Community School.  He accepted the position as 10th grade principal at W. A. Berry High School and was later appointed principal.  Upon completion of the construction of Hoover High School, Mr. Duncan moved into the new facility as associate principal.  He later became the Coordinator of High School Partnerships at Bessemer State Technical College, where he remained for eight years before accepting the position of Director of Career/Technical Education at the Bibb County Career Tech Center in 2004 – a position he says is “the best I’ve ever had!”

Mr. Duncan and his wife live in Jefferson County where they are very active at Hunter Street Baptist Church.  They have two grown children, Lauren and David, and a four-and-a-half-year-old Cocker Spaniel, Dexter.  Mr. Duncan enjoys hunting, fishing, and working in his yard.
